Rachel X Hobreigh is a muralist, painter,
sculptor and Tai Chi master, with an MA in public art from California State
University, Northridge (CSUN). Her work focuses on exploring mindfulness and the
five-element theory through painting, performance art, photography and
sculpture.
Hobreigh’s work is in private and public collections including at CSUN’s
Mike Curb College of Art and Design. Recent exhibitions of work have included
The Gallery in the Marie de Paris 8 in Paris, France, FH Gallery in Jena,
Germany, Gallery 417 in Los Angeles, the Museum Comtempo in Olympia,
Washington; Building Bridges Art Exchange at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica;
the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles; and at SOMArts Cultural Center in
San Francisco. Her mural
work can be seen across California from Haddon Elementary in Pacoima to The
Golden Fleece in the Pacific Palisades.
She serves on the Board of Directors of
the Rachel Rosenthal Company, is director/co-creator of The Pony Tail Girls, a
nonprofit organization teaching young girls self-reliance and self-esteem
through visual art and martial arts. Hobreigh is also a past President of The
National Tai Chi Chu'an Association.
