Feminine Emergence considers
the qualities of strength, serenity, joy, and sass with paint on
canvas. Paintings include bodies formed from trees and shadow; Kali, the Goddess of creation and destruction, and a Guardian Spirit or Dryad that is born
with a tree and watches over it for as long as the tree lives.
Above and Below
Shadow Portraits has grown out of my afternoon walks. I am armed with my camera and I am exploring self-portraits without self on many and varied surfaces. As the sun moves into the afternoon sky I am able to document a single moment- experiencing the line, texture, and color in everyday objects and scenes. These shadow portraits abstract the form to become any woman and sometimes even genderless archetypes.
